1897 Viaticum Cabinet Home Altar Box Anchor Silver Catholic Martinelli LOT

Description

Beautiful antique marked October 1897 Catholic Anchor Silver Plate Co. Viaticum Cabinet and Home Altar. The cabinet features great box jointed corners and silver crosses on the doors. This altar is an incomplete set, yet beautiful, with some very rare accessories. These items were found within this box. Plates and cross appear original.  The paper on the back of the cabinet is signed and dated. Many of the filled out portions on the paper are not well legible.
This lot contains:
1 Wood Viaticum Cabinet/House Altar (marked 1897)
2 Silver plate

holds absorbent cotton and/or salt or bread crumbs)
1 Salt shaker (with contents)
1 Set of blessed candles in original box and paperwork (unknown year)
1 Communion/altar Cloth
1 Crucifix (was detachable off of candelabrum)
Box is roughly 12 inches length x 6.5-7 inches wide x 14.5 inches height
I also do conservation and restoration work if there is anything else you would like done to the cabinet.
Lot is in overall fair antique condition. There is finish damage on the box exterior, as well as dents, scratches, chips, etc. Corners of door was glued due to warpage. Doors have loose hinges. Bottom of cabinet was glued back down due to warpage. Interior of cabinet is heavily faded. Velvet bottom and top of back liner were glued back down (archival quality reversable glue). The fabric cross members on door interiors are both torn. Some items have been waxed to conserve items and finish. Wax is archival quality and fully removable. Communion/altar cloth has stains. There has been no effort to hide or conceal any conservation methods, damage, and/or repairs. Please refer to item photos for full visibility of item condition. Feel free to ask questions.
