1960s US Joint Service Commendation Medal, H.L.P. Hallmark on Planchet Reverse
The HLP maker mark is for "His Lordship Products" which later became "Lordship Industries" which used the marks L.I.G.I., LI-GI, or LIGI. Medals with the H.L.P. stamped on the medal planchet itself are 1960s production items, with the Lordship Industries markings beginning in the very early 1970s and continuing in their various forms until 1996.
These early H.L.P. production medals have beautiful finishes and superior details compared to the modern medals as produced by Graco.
