    Description

    Vintage AKRON BRASS 2 1/2” connection hydrant control
    gate valve.  This valve is #285, manufactured by Akron Brass Manufacturing Co., Inc.  The heavy brass valve is in very good original condition. The crank handle turns freely and the gate goes up and down smoothly.  Approximately 6 turns of the handle fully opens and closes the gate valve.  The # 015554 is stamped on the side of the valve and AKRON is stamped on the swivel connector.  Functional or could be used for decorative purposes.
    The valve weighs 12 1/2
    lbs.  It measures ~ 12.5” in length and 5.25” wide.   A great antique piece of firefighting history.  Please see photos for details of condition.
