Medal
Thank you for stopping to view my posting and please be certain to look over my other medals, artifacts and unique items being offered.
If there is something you are looking for, please feel free to ask.
Before I begin
, you need to be aware that:
IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE THAT WHEN A BID IS ENTERED, THE "MAKE AN OFFER" OPTION IS REMOVED (by eBay rules, not mine).  Please keep this in mind if you are 'watching' to place an offer later.  Once a bid is entered, you now have to compete with another interested party.  If you are thinking of making an offer, please allow 24 hours for me to receive and consider your offer.  I try to check my message status every day but that is not always possible.
The medal being offered is vintage pre-1975 manufacture .
Please looking closely at the photo's to notice the detail.  Feel free to ask questions.
I listed this as used but the best description would very good if not excellent
This is a vintage, original medal from pre-1975 Republic of Vietnam (ARVN).  The enamel of the medal portion is intact.  The ribbon is pristine  - look very closely at the ribbon drape to convince yourself.
Above all else, it is a great examples of the Republic of Vietnam's history.  If there is something specific you are looking for, feel free to ask.  It can get tedious taking pictures of a multitude of items and posting them here.
All of the items I am offering, in this auction and other auctions, are from my father's possessions (collection, if you will, but my father held onto these medals more as reminders of people / friends he met during his service / dedication rather as a collector).
My father's daytime 'occupation' at the time was as an instructor teaching tailoring to Vietnamese students.  To substantiate his presence in Vietnam, he ran a small tailoring shop catering to military personnel.
At times he was asked to replace medals or the suspension ribbon from which they hung.  It appears some of these medals were replaced in their entirety but my father held onto this medal all these years as a token remembrance of the soldier who asked for a replacement.  Strange as it seems, dad always said when he held the various medals he brought back, he could remember the face but not always the names.
Unfortunately, during war time, quite a few customers did not come back to pick up their order.  Some of the other medals I am offering show this distinction by their quality and condition.
In any event, these are unique pieces of history.
Please review the pictures. I've done my best to describe this auction but the pictures are the best in showing what you are bidding on.  If you have questions, please ask.
If you have another moment, please take a moment and examine the other items being offered.
Some of the other medals being offered, along with many from the Republic of Vietnam (RVN),  include those of French origin and were the property (not sure if I should consider them "property" considering a soldier was properly awarded such distinctions) of a French soldier / officer while stationed in colonial Vietnam / Indochine / Indochina.   Having checked the period, some of those French Medals reach back to WW II.
OK... Now that you've read through the boilerplate of this particular auction, you are probably wondering how did I come up with the price for the medals I offer.
Well, as you can see from my feedback, I have been selling what is posted today (along with the other medals up for auction) and quite a few more for sometime now.  I researched the internet and asked myself, "what makes these guys the experts in price determination?"  ... Well, the only answer I could come up with is their experience in establishing an items worth based on its condition, rarity, and popular demand /supply.  Then again, they also have to feed a family.  While I am no different, having to feed a family, I also see the historical value in each item my father brought home and I would much rather it go to a collector, just starting or dedicated, rather than sit in my home along with the dozens of other artifacts I have.
Now... does that mean I am going to give them away?  Of course not, but....
on each auction I provide a MAKE AN OFFER option because my pricing may be too high for the budgets of some folks.  So if you read this far down, make an offer already... any reasonable offer will be seriously considered.  In return, I expect you to
seriously
consider what I have posted for auction and make that reasonable offer.
