Hi there, and thanks for coming by my review of the CenterPoint Sniper 370 Crossbow. Built by Crosman (yes, the BB gun folks), I was skeptical of how well this x-bow would stack up against the competition, but I always review products with an open mind. Let’s see if Crossman knows crossbows as well as they do BB guns.
What Do I Get With the CenterPoint Sniper 370?
Obviously, you’ll need to know what you get for your hard-earned money. In the box from CenterPoint, you can expect to find these items:

A four-arrow quiver
A cocking rope
Four 20-inch carbon bolts
In short, you’ll receive everything you’d expect to find with a crossbow, plus an extra accessory or two. Once you unpackage your new weapon, it’s time to put it together.

How Difficult Is This Crossbow to Assemble?
The first thing you should know about this model is that the instruction manual is very vague. With that said, if you’ve ever assembled a crossbow before, you shouldn’t have any problems. If you’re an absolutely newbie to the weapon, though, I’d recommend having your local bow tech set it up for you.
Is the Sniper 370 Powerful and Accurate? Once you’ve got your scope sighted in, you’ll be ready to find out what kind of tack driver this crossbow really is. And I do mean tack driver; I was easily able to maintain 1-inch patterns from 30 yards, and 1.5-inch patterns at 40 yards. This is a mean, lean, arrow-flinging machine.
But what about power? How does 370 FPS firing velocity sound? That’s with my 423-grain arrows, meaning this baby deals out 128 ft-lbs of kinetic energy. That’s almost twice the KE recommended for tackling the toughest game, like Cape buffalo and grizzly bears. Yes, it’s that powerful.
How Suitable Is This Crossbow for Hunting?
This isn’t the smallest or lightest crossbow on the market, but it’s still compact enough to be suitable for hauling cross-country to your favorite hunting blind or tree stand. Uncocked, the x-bow is 21.5 inches wide, and just 18 inches after you cock it. It weighs in at 7.9 pounds, so it won’t cause too much back strain or fatigue. I particularly like the fact that it comes with a shoulder sling, so you don’t have to buy that separately. Just my opinion here, but
all
crossbows should come with a sling.
That all probably sounds well and good, but I’m sure you want to know about real-life experience with the Sniper 370. Well, let me tell you, I’ve used this puppy for everything from 12-point bucks to Cape buffalo, and plenty of other game in between. It’s never let me down, and the accuracy makes hitting those vital organs a breeze.
How Difficult Is the Sniper 370 to Cock?
With a draw weight of 185 pounds, this could easily be a back-breaker to cock. However, the included rope cocking device makes it much easier and safer to draw. The string pulls back as smooth as butter, with almost no stacking.
Will I Enjoy the Included Scope?
CenterPoint bundles this model with a multi-reticle scope. It’s not a top-of-the-line scope, but neither is it a throwaway piece of junk
The scope sights in easily, and holds zero practically forever. Most of the time, I end up replacing included scopes with something better, but I never got around to doing that with the Sniper 370 because frankly, I didn’t need to.
What Kind of Bolts Should I Buy?
You’ll get a three-pack of 20-inch bolts with the crossbow, and they’re pretty nice carbon ones. They hold up quite well to both target shooting and hunting, but you can always find better crossbow arrows than what come with your purchase. For one thing, you’ll find that the included arrows are 275-grain bolts with 100-grain field tips. If your broadheads are only 100-grain, you won’t get the full potential out of the crossbow. How Safe and Well-Designed Is the CenterPoint Sniper 370
Safety is key with crossbows, and CenterPoint recognizes this. The Sniper 370 has an anti-dry fire mechanism that works flawlessly, as well as an automatic safety. You do have to remember the proper cocking procedure, though – turn the safety off and then engage the cocking lever before you try pulling the string back.
The rail is CNC-machined aluminum, and the riser is a shoot-through variant. To keep noise and vibration down, you’ll find integrated string suppressors. The quad limbs are matched with precision CNC-machined cams for a smooth, even draw without even a hint of stacking. The stock is composite, and the limbs are compressed fiberglass.
