    ADD A 4-6-8 TACH TO ANY COP OR DIS-PACK IGNITION!
    This sturdy device is perfectly comfortable living on top of a COP coil or anyplace else in the engine box.  It converts the signal from any single-fire COP to 4-cyl pulses, and any dual-fire DIS-pack to 8-cyl.  It can drive any standard tach (voltage-pulse type) that will accept a 12V signal, and the internal timing is optimized for the slow signal rate and long "ring" times of COP and DIS systems.  The hookup is 4 simple wires (power, ground, signal and output) using .25" fastons from any parts store.  In most COP applications, 3 of the 4 wires can be tapped straight off the handiest coil, with the adaptor mounted right on top.  The package comes with full instructions and easy-to-read labels.  It also comes with
    free email tech support
    and a 90-day replace-or-refund warranty (don't smash it, of course, but we ask few other questions).
    NEW - We now offer power supply noise filters (condensers) as a courtesy to our customers who may have noisy electrical systems (typically pre-1985 vehicles and most small-engine applications).  Shipping is free (refunded) when purchased with any Widget Man adaptor or converter.  See listing# 143562430919.
    NEED A DIFFERENT RATIO?
    The CCA is purpose-designed for adding a standard 4-6-8 tach to a COP or DIS system, so it only produces a 1:4 conversion ratio and can't be configured for other purposes.  It will also work for 1-cyl and 2-cyl engines, since these produce the same signal rates as COP and DIS, but the timing is optimized for large engines and is limited to about 15,000 pulses per minute input.  This means it may be unsuitable for small, high-revving powerplants.  If it doesn't suit your needs, consider the model BTA universal converter (see our
    EBay listing# 141931549970
    ).  The BTA supports a wide variety of ignition, alternator and sensor types with 31 selectable ratios and easy DIP-switch configuration.  If even the BTA doesn't support the right ratio, WM now makes a Universal Corrector, model USC, that can produce any ratio (even fractional) between 40:1 to 1:10
    (see our
    EBay listing# 143554791905
    )
    .  The USC is ideal for belt-driven alternator applications and for any application where the right ratio is unknown.  If you aren't sure about your needs, contact us!  We have an extensive automotive database including Identifix and Alldata, plus buckets of expertise.  We're as close as an EBay-gram and we're happy to help!
    FOR OWNERS OF "BACK-EMF" TYPE TACHOMETERS:
    Many older tachs require greater than 12V to trigger, expecting to see the "spike" from a discharging ignition coil.  Since the CCA outputs a 12V square wave, it can't drive these tachs without help.  What is required is a "coil simulator" (aka "kicker coil") on the CCA output.  If you own one of these tachs, you can purchase a weather-sealed booster along with your CCA (see our
    EBay listing#
    142171581596
    )
    .  If you aren't sure, tapping the tach trigger wire on the battery+ terminal will usually tell you -- if the needle jumps or quivers then 12V will probably trigger it, if not then you probably need a kicker.
    NOTE: Units may come with clear potting (shown) or black.  There is no functional difference and the shipped unit may be either color.
