The Forest City Railway Company was formed in about 1906 as a public transit streetcar line in Cleveland, Ohio. The line was taken over in 1909 by the Cleveland Railway Company, which was bought out by the city of Cleveland in 1942 to be used as the nucleus of the Cleveland Transit System.
