GREG SHOONER LIDDED VESSEL / JAR - "IN GOD IS ALL OUR TRUST" - SIGNED, 2005

Description

This is a spectacular piece of Greg Shooner pottery.  I purchased it from Greg at a show in Wilton, Connecticut in 2005 and have stored it behind glass since then. It is carved in Sgraffito, showing brown beneath the gold and green colors used for this period.
This vessel is so important at a point in our lives when many things have come into question.  Declaring "LIBERTY" along one side of the vessel, and a gorgeous eagle carved on the opposite side, it says everything about the liberty we enjoy in this great country.  The banner along the top of the vessel reads, "In God Is All Our TRUST".  It is dated "1819" across the bottom.  The eagle holds arrows with one claw and a flower with the other claw.
The vessel stands approximately 7-1/4" tall.  With the tin lid, handmade by Greg Shooner, the total height is approximately 8".  This piece is ONE OF A KIND and would be a very special addition to any collector of Greg Shooner pottery.
