This is an early Lanier Meaders Rock Tooth Face Jug from the late 60's. This comes from my personal collection. The jug has a deep dark tobacco spit glaze with some areas where the glaze skipped. The jug is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips although 2 of the rock teeth are broken, probably when it was originally fired in the kiln. The broken teeth give the jug a goofy look. I have seen one other similar face jug that was described as a "Bob Hope" face jug because of the 'ski slope' nose on it. This face jug definitely has a 'ski slope' type nose. This is a fairly large face jug measuring about 10" high and about 9" wide from ear to ear. The base of the jug is signed by the maker "Lanier Meaders". The pics are the best I could do using my old flip phone. Shipping by fully insured Priority Mail with signature required.
