A most impressive port stern view on a sepia-toned postcard of the Messageries Maritimes' JEAN LABORDE of 1931 entering her natural element for the very first time, with the image having the launch date on back (1929).
Sadly, this fine liner would be scuttled by the retreating Germans at Marseille in 1944.  The wrecked was later raised and scrapped in 1946.
This lovely postcard is in excellent condition.
