Description
Original Vietnamese Made 135th Assault Helicopter Company Distinctive Insignia. The GI’s called these “beer cans” and they served a morale and unit pride purpose. The 135th AHC was a joint US and Australian Company. Their call sign was EMU, named after a flightless Australian bird. This DI depicts the Emu holding both the US and Australian flags. Below the Emu are the letters for their call sign “EMU”. Very scarce DI from a unit that suffered a high causality rate during the Vietnam War.
