Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art Pottery Bowl Marilyn Stoltzfus White

Description

This is a Pennsylvania Dutch, Folk Art Bowl, made by Marilyn Stoltzfus White. This is a nice example of Folk Art made in Lancaster County, Pa. A flower pattern is carved into the bowl and then it was decorated with an off white color and the edge was trimmed with blue giving the rim a spatter look. It is finished in a high gloss glaze. The bowl has a description carved into the back giving details about the piece (her name is also carved in it). This piece was hand made in Lancaster, Pa on May 22, 2013. The artist includes the weather on the day the piece was made. That day was a hazy, hot, humid 89 degrees.
The flower design represents Prosperity. While displayed, this piece is in excellent, clean condition. No chips, cracks, repairs, stains, scratches or crazing. The bowl is approximately 8 ¾ inches across by 2 1/8 inches high. Please look closely at all pictures and ask questions before bidding. We try to describe all items as accurately as possible.
