Utah Picture Jasper - Polished
Picture jasper comes from Grand County, Utah - found in the Brushy Basin Member in the Morrison Formation. These Pseudomorph's are from around the same Jurassic Time Period, about 140 million years old.
These nodules come from the same formation as dino bone, barite pseudomorphs and petrified wood. The jasper nodules are the only ones to show pictures by the way the silica infiltrated the cracks in the nodule.
Jurassic Art nodule has a very unique pattern and muted earth colors.
Great addition to your collection.
Measurements are about 2 inches by 1 1/4 inch on polished face 1 1/2 inch thick, weighs 4.4 oz
