    Description

I purchased this Steambow Excalibur 355 crossbow directly from the Steambow company in Austria in May 2020. The patented Steambow device allows a modified crossbow, in this case an Excalibur 355, to be automatically cocked with a push button using a small HPA compressed air tank or CO2 bottle. If you have never heard of the Steambow auto-cocking crossbows you can see videos of them on YouTube.
As far as I am aware the only Steambow crossbows being sold in the US have all been mounted on a different manufacturer's larger crossbow and heavier crossbow. I wanted to have the smallest and most compact Steambow crossbow which the company offered though. That was the Excalibur 355 version and only available on direct import from Steambow company in Austria. You load an arrow, then push a button and the bow cocks itself in less than 2 seconds. It can be decocked safely in a similar fashion. In effect, the Steambow device simply takes the place of a more typical built-in crank cocking device.
This one has never been fired and is in as-new condition. It includes 2 'power reduction' rings which can be inserted into the Steambow device to reduce the power of each shot by about 50%. Those Steambow power reduction rings are not available in the US either. I purchased them in case I ever decided to use the crossbow for short range target practice which didn't require as much power as hunting would. Also included are 4x 16.5” arrows, plus 3x shorter arrows
which I had leftover from another Excalibur crossbow. A 9ci Tippmann aluminum HPA (high pressure air) tank is included. The Steambow can also be operated using 88G CO2 cartridges with a suitable CO2 to HPA adapter.
The limbs of the Excalibur 355 are hinged where they connect to the stock, so they can fold very close against the stock when not in use. There is no tension at all on the string until it's cocked, so a string can easily be replaced by hand if ever required.
I was especially interested in this design because it represents a unique merging of HPA airgun technology with traditional crossbow technology, both of which have interested me for many decades. This small Excalibur bow is very solid and the Steambow device is beautifully machined. The offering price is less than ½ of what I paid for everything 18 months ago. I just don't have a use for it anymore.
The Steambow is primarily marketed for use by people who are unable or unwilling to draw a crossbow manually, or for use by people who want to be able to recock their crossbow very quickly for that second or third
shot. I am hoping that someone who understands the engineering uniqueness of the Steambow and who also has some experience with HPA airguns will be interested, as I was. The cost of shipping CONUS is included in the price. I ship everything very well padded and boxed, and have never had anything broken during shipping.
    Thanks for looking.
