    Description

Tach Shop's 1970- 71 Buick GSX Hood Tach (the 72 GSX had a different face plate).
1970-71 Buick GS - GSX Hood Tach , this hood tach was used on all Buick GSX cars. This IS the most accurate reproduction Hood Tach on the market. 1 year warranty, If this tach fails in the first year ship it to me and I will fix it and return it for free. My tachs have over 99% reliability in the last 5 years. Accurate to within 200 RPM the entire sweep. Will work on points or electronic ignition (I have not found an ignition system that this tach will not work on). Outer shell, front bezel and base are all injection molded and are exact shape and size of the original hood tach inside and out. Glass lens as used in the original, Lighting is LED to reduce heat and improve lighting, Face plate is correct size, shape as original with correct lettering, division lines and redline colors. Correct Pointer shape. Correct wire harness ground lug, fuse holder, 3 prong connector ends and wire colors. Comes with mounting template and wiring instructions. Correct face plate color. The tach is held together with 4 screws from the base into the shell and then sealed as was the original. This IS the best reproduction hood tach made, the most accurate to original and the most reliable hood tach on the market. There are at least 3 different manufacturers of hood tachs and we will all claim ours is the best reproduction on the market. None of the other vendors selling Hood mounted tachs will talk about correct color redlines or division lines, the colors changed depending on the year of the hood tach. Correct color of wires in the harness and correct size ground lug, they changed depending on the year of the tach. Correct P/N ink stamped on the bottom of the tach. What ignition systems their tach will actually work on. I have all these answers because I have been repairing original hood tachs and producing Reproduction Hood Tachs for over 30 years. If your tach was ever to fail, when you call for help you will be talking to the person who designed it, built it, and who will repair it for you. If you consider that painting the tach to match your car could easily cost you as much as buying it. Why purchase one from a competitor with less than 99% reliability, less than one year warranty, and from a vendor that won’t repair it if something does go wrong and it quits working years down the road. My tach does not have the incorrect round casting marks on the front bezel as on some of the other reproductions. If you want a custom redline, custom color faceplate, 4 or 6 cylinder engine application just ask. Want a Hood Tach for a manufacturer other than Pontiac/Buick and want a custom face plate just ask. Custom color lighting no problem.
