His example is actually the certificate listed here.  It's the only one he's seen in 30 + years of research.
The only information I can find on this company is just "An act to incorporate in 1839".
2.  Towanda Coal Company, No 122, 333 shares, dated June 19, 1841.  Uncancelled.  About 5 x 9.
Research turns up later Towanda Coal Companies  (1850's - 1860's - 1880's) but I can find nothing on this earlier company.
Ancient fold & bend marks, the  RR certificate has small piece out along the left side as shown, otherwise very good.
Postage is in the USA.  It will be shipped in a reinforced cardboard mailer.
