    Description:
    A nice smaller size glazed and nicely decorated redware bird figurine made by James C Seagreaves. This brown colored bird with yellow and blue wings having black highlights has a yellow beak and yellow eyes with black centers. The bird is standing on a round base with a yellow column supporting its body. The column has the same black mottling and the wings. The bird figurine has raised design outlining the feathers in the wings, the tail, the chest, and the eyes. The bird's body has raised lines along he back and along the neck. The round base of the piece is marked on the underside "JCS." The head of the bird is looking forward. The piece is hollow but has raised details throughout. A beautiful piece of modern folk art redware to add to your collection. Please carefully view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

    Purchased at an estate auction in southeastern Pennsylvania.

    The base measures ~2 1/4" in diameter, while the bird itself is ~5 3/4" at its longest, is ~2 1/2" at its widest, and ~5" at its highest. The piece weighs about 7.7 ounces.
