    MARS program was established officially on 17 August 1962, and began operations on 1 January 1963.  Since this button only includes the Army and Air Force Branches unlike all of the other buttons and patches currently on the market, it would age this piece between 1952-1963.  We cannot find any information on this button other than that.  A picture of one cannot be found for comparison.  Given this, we assume this particular button to be rare.
