    Description

Vietnam U.S.Army Warrant Officer Group 1st Infantry Division 1965-67 Big Red One
This is a group I picked up from a local estate buyer. The items belonged to Frank P. Lomeli who did multiple tours in Vietnam was awarded 4 Bronze Stars and an Air Medal. From looking through the stuff it appears he enlisted either in the late 1950's or early 1960's and rose to the rank of Warrant Officer during the Vietnam War era. There is the book and certificate from having served in Vietnam with the Big Red One in the mid 1960's. The plastic cover on the book has aged a little, but the book is in excellent condition. Included are his ribbon bar and medals. None of the medals are engraved, but they are in nice condition. Also included are other insignia and many photos. There is a photo of his mother pinning on his Warrant Officer rank and another of him and her when he was awarded one of the Bronze Stars. There are a lot of photos of him when he was younger and first in the Army. They look like photos from training maneuvers or possibly Korea? This is a neat group and something to research. When I first saw it I saw the Warrant rank and the Air Medal and figured he was a pilot or aircrewman, but there are no wings on his uniform in the photos so I'm not sure what he was doing.
