Description
From the estate of a western Pennsylvania antiques dealer retired to Tucson during the 1980's is this I believe vintage (though I'm not sure whether antique) Pennsylvania redware dish or pan with toggled rim and a splash of yellow slip. The mentioned gentleman handled both old American ceramics (primarily stoneware and Pennsylvania redware) as well as 19th Century country French pottery. While it does not a new piece made in the traditional manner (as Lester Breininger's Taylor Mansion plates for instance), it does not show the heavy use wear often associated with these utilitarian wares. Be aware this is not an area of extreme expertise for me, so have a look at the photos - perhaps it is for you. Condition is quite fine, with a distinct aura of treasured time and display and that's pretty much it. No chips or cracks or any hidden restorations. Size is about 5 1/4 in. across and 1 3/8 in. high at the coggled rim. A look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition. If you already know what this is and have the need, or simply wish a single classic to improve the ambiance of a country kitchen cabinet this will lave great meaning for you. NOTE: I have decided to do this as a final sale auction like the old days, so feel free to ask any questions and bid accordingly.Payment Terms
