Vintage Female Basket 4 1/2” NS Akron Brass & Steel barrel strainer ??

Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. The question marks in the title indicate that I'm not exactly sure what this was used for and if it was used for a fire truck or a fire hydrant or fire hose, I do not know. I purchased it from a salvage yard and at the same time just came in some other firetruck or fire hose part came in as well and it certainly wasn't something that would turn on to a fire hydrant or some type of fire apparatus. Please use the pictures to help determine the approximate dimension of this item. The coupling is not magnetic but the remainder of it is. The inside diameter of the coupling is approximately 5 and 1/2 in. I had this sitting outside under an awning attached to my garage and it did get wet and this may be seen in the pictures. I will have it stored inside now and it will dry out so by the time I ship it it will have a different appearance and this will be due to it drying out. I am selling this item as is. It was painted and some of the paint is peeling off of it and it is scratched and it may be dented but if it is dented the dents are relatively small and may not show up in the pictures.
